How Pallet Freight Shipping Works

Pallets do not ship like parcels. A wrapped pallet typically weighs 150–500 pounds and moves through LTL (less-than-truckload) freight carriers rather than package networks. Understanding the process helps you plan for delivery day and avoid surprises.

The Delivery Timeline

Most of our orders ship within 1–3 business days after payment is confirmed. Transit time then depends on distance from our Nebraska warehouse — typically 2–6 business days to most of the continental USA. Every order includes tracking so you can follow the pallet from our dock to your address.

What "Curbside Delivery" Means

Standard freight delivery is curbside: the driver brings the pallet to the end of your driveway or the closest accessible point for the truck, and lowers it with a liftgate. The driver does not carry items inside, up stairs, or into a garage. Plan to move the boxes from the curb yourself — a pallet jack, dolly, or a second pair of hands makes this fast.

How to Prepare for Delivery Day

• Clear a space near where the truck can park. Freight trucks need room to maneuver.
• Be reachable by phone. Carriers often call ahead to schedule a delivery window.
• Have help or equipment ready if the pallet is heavy.
• Inspect before signing. Note any visible wrap tears or crushed boxes on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.

Inspecting Your Pallet on Arrival

1. Photograph the pallet as delivered, before unwrapping.
2. Check the shrink wrap for punctures or re-wrap signs.
3. Unbox and count against the manifest promptly.
4. Report damaged, defective, or incorrect items within 48 hours of delivery with photos.

Residential vs. Business Delivery

Freight carriers deliver to both. Residential deliveries sometimes include a liftgate fee with other suppliers — our free nationwide shipping covers delivery to your address either way. If you have a commercial address with a dock or forklift, mention it when ordering; it can speed up scheduling.

If you are near Lincoln, Nebraska, local pickup is available by appointment. Contact us after ordering and we will schedule a time at the warehouse.
