The Best Tools to Resell Online: Brand-by-Brand Breakdown

NorthBay Liquidation Team · 2026-07-24

Which tool brands resell fastest and for the most money? A practical ranking of Milwaukee, DEWALT, Ryobi, RIDGID, Makita and Bosch.

Not All Tool Brands Resell Equally

If you are buying pallets to resell, the brand mix inside the pallet matters more than the piece count. Here is a practical ranking of the major tool brands by resale speed and value retention, based on how they perform on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and Amazon.

Tier 1: Milwaukee

Milwaukee is the strongest resale brand in the tool industry. M18 FUEL kits, batteries, and PACKOUT storage sell fast at 60–80% of retail when new in box. Search volume is enormous, buyers are loyal to the platform, and demand comes from both contractors and serious DIYers. If a pallet is Milwaukee-heavy, the manifest almost always pencils out.

Tier 1: DEWALT

DEWALT runs neck-and-neck with Milwaukee. The 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT lines have a massive installed base, and DEWALT's yellow branding is instantly recognized. Combo kits and ToughSystem storage move especially well. DEWALT buyers skew slightly more DIY, which broadens your customer pool.

Tier 2: Ryobi

Ryobi dominates the homeowner segment. Retail prices are lower, so per-unit profit is smaller — but the ONE+ battery platform has over 200 tools, and homeowners buy constantly. Ryobi pallets are usually cheaper to buy, which can mean better percentage returns for patient sellers.

Tier 2: RIDGID

RIDGID's lifetime service agreement makes its tools attractive to value-conscious pros. Octane brushless tools and the famous pipe wrenches hold value well. Smaller buyer pool than the big two, but loyal.

Tier 3: Makita and Bosch

Both are excellent tools with thinner resale demand in the US. Makita has a devoted following among woodworkers and concrete trades; Bosch moves well in measuring tools and rotary hammers. Profitable, but expect longer holding times.

The Lesson for Pallet Buyers

When you compare two pallets at similar prices, count the Tier 1 items in each manifest. A pallet that is 70% Milwaukee and DEWALT will almost always outsell and out-earn a pallet of mixed Tier 3 brands — even if the second pallet has more pieces. That is why our tool pallets concentrate on the brands buyers actually search for.
